Session #7 Telling the American Muslim Story: Creativity and Islam
In the process of defining what it means to be Muslim in the American context, a natural progression of our integration is engaging popular culture and the arts. What were different ways the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, used to connect to different types of people? What methods can we use today as Muslims to tell our stories? Hear from unconventional professionals on how they utilize their expertise to tell the story of Islam to Americans and from our scholarly tradition how the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, was able to transcend any social constructed differences in connecting with people from everywhere.
Speakers: G. Willow Wilson, Musa Syeed, Omar Mullick , Ali Shehata
